Jeremiah’s Call as a Prophet

⁴This message from the Lord came to me:

⁵“I knew you before I formed you in the womb;
I set you apart for me before you were born;
I appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.”

⁶I replied, “Ah, Lord God! Look, I don’t know how to speak, because I’m only^[a] a young man.”
